Nick works with Kaitlyn Campbell in the Outreach Department. As a part of this department, he organizes veteran support groups that take place throughout the states that we are currently in. His mission is to cut back at the high number of veteran suicides by bringing the veteran community together through these support groups called “Vets for Vets”.
Nick served six years in the Army Reserves and Indiana National Guard where he participated in numerous activations including many around the United States for disaster relief. One activation was to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina. After leaving the Army, he joined the Navy Reserves for four years. He constantly stayed active with back to back orders to be sent to places like Afghanistan and Kuwait. He also had orders to be sent to Newport, RI and Norfolk, VA. where he was in support of the International Seapower Symposium and established relationships with the crew of the USS Cole. While out on orders to the Cole for INSURV, he volunteered for what would be his last deployment to the Mediterranean on the USS Cole providing protection for Israel.
Nick has a passion for veterans with PTSD. After almost succumbing to it in 2015, he finally reached out for help. This lead him to the Wounded Veterans Foundation and he began the process of getting a service dog. He has found a pit bull mix that was rescued from the Muncie Animal Shelter. Her name is Zoey and she is just under a year old. After contacting K9’s 4 Dogtags in Beech Grove, IN, it was determined that she was the perfect fit for Nick. She will be going through many months of training obtaining the abilities to assist him.
He currently lives and works in Indiana with his wife Amy where he enjoys making up for lost time by spending time with family, fishing, and making pallet projects.
